David Sommerville Tennent

David was born in Stewarton in 1897, the third son of James Tennent M.R.C.V.S. and Jane Tennent. At the time of his birth his father farmed Glenouther Farm in Stewarton and was the local vet but at the time of David's death the family were farming Brownside Farm, Newton Mearns.

David was killed at the Somme, France on 20 June 1916, aged 19 and is buried in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, Somme, France - Grave reference VII.
